CUI Xiaodong was born in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province in 1953. In 1998 he obtained his Master’s degree from the Traditional Chinese Painting Department of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently director of landscape painting at the Faculty of Chinese Painting at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is also the deputy director of the Huang Zhou Fine Art Fund and deputy director of the Yanhuang Art Gallery Council.
