Biography

1960   Born in Beijing on February 1, 1960.

1980    Admitted by traditional Chinese painting department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

1984     Graduation art work was awarded “Ye Qianyu scholarship”

1985     Landscape painting Developers’Song took part in Beijing International Youth Art Exhibition and attained the second award. And the work later was collected by National Art Museum of China.

1986   Seal-cutting art work Folk Adages took part in National Middle- Aged and Youth Calligraphy and Seal-cutting Exhibition and attained top awards-Ministry of Culture Award.

1990   Attained national higher education “Huo Ying-tung Foundation” teaching scholarship.

1995   For the first time to present “Feiwa Mountain Villa—Chen Ping Art Exhibition” at Beijing International School of Fine Arts. At the same time Chen Ping’s newly edited Kunqu opera Soul Lost in Picturesque Dream was staged.

2001   Landscape painting Feiwa Mountain Villa took part in A-Hundred-Year Chinese Painting Show.

2005   Appointed as the director of landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting in traditional Chinese painting college, China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

2006   Landscape painting art work, Hometown’s Mountains in Dream took part in Nature & Human—the 2nd Contemporary Landscape & Oil Painting Show and attained a prize.

2007   Appointed deputy principal in Traditional Chinese Painting College, China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

2010   Appointed the tutor of PHD candidates in China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Second Feiwa Mountain Villa —Chen Ping Art Exhibition held in China National Art Museum.

2011   In September, Chen Ping’s art work was selected into Chinese Ink Painting. At the same time, Chen Ping’s newly edited Kunqu opera: Soul Lost in Picturesque Dream and Dream of the Lost Mountain were staged at Meilanfang Theatre.

2012   Rhyme of Painting, Voice of Kunqu Opera—2012 Painting and Opera Work Exhibition of Yu Shaofei, Chen Ping was launched in National Grand Theatre. At the same time, Chen Ping’s newly edited Kunqu opera Rich Spring Dream and Soul Lost in Picturesque Dream.

2013   Appointed as China's national ministry of education to guide education committee, deputy director of Fine Arts.
Appointed as Director of Chinese Artists Association,

2014   Appointed the principal in Traditional Chinese Painting College, China Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Currently Appointed as the member of Chinese Calligrapher Association, Chinese Poem Association.
